COMMUNICATION
AMONG MANAGERS, COWORKERS AND CUSTOMERS
Compressed workweeks are a full-time schedule. But they result in
days or parts of days when the employee will be away
from the office. For these arrangements to work, there
must be strong communication among the employee,
manager, coworkers and customers.
Some basic best practices will help this process along:
The
employee should communicate a schedule of days in and
out of the office to manager and coworkers
Schedules should be shared with any internal or external
customers as needed
Agreements
should be reached regarding whether and how often voice
mail or email will be checked on the employee’s
scheduled day off
It
is helpful to make arrangements to have a backup among
coworkers to handle occasional important calls or urgent
matters
